Week of 4/30- 5/4, 2012******5/2 is an ERD

Saxon Math:
4/30- HW: study the study guide for tomorrow's test
5/1- No HW, test #21 in class
5/2-(ERD) HW: L.111
5/3- NO HW and no switching classes today due to a field trip that Mrs. Rhoades' class has scheduled
5/4- We will take notes and discuss L.112,113 in class HW: L.113

Language Arts:
prepositions, prepositional phrases, object pronouns in prepositional phrases, interjections, combining sentences- complex sentences

Reading:
We will continue our unit study on "Kingdom Keepers" in class

Spelling:
We have finished the lessons in the Spelling book, so we will use this time to practice writing using prompts given in class

I will be out of town 4/26-4/30 and I will be back 5/1. Please be respectful to the substitute teachers and students still need to complete homework.

Week of Apr. 16- 20, 2012

AIMS TESTING WEEK-

Saxon Math-
We will still complete Saxon Math lessons 101-105 in class to reinforce skills, but students will not have any homework this week due to standardized testing.

When students are not taking the AIMS test this week, we will complete activities for "Kingdom Keepers", Language Arts book activities, SSR (sustained silent reading), and specials in Art, Music or PE.

Saxon Math:
4/9- HW: L.96- use reciprocals to divide fractions
4/10- HW: L.97- use a ratio to describe a relationship between 2 numbers
4/11- HW: L.98- identify positive and negative numbers on a number line; solve problems involving temperature; use compatible numbers to estimate the solution to a problem
4/12- L.99- add whole numbers and decimal numbers; subtract whole numbers from decimal numbers
4/13- L.100- simplify decimal numbers

Language Arts:
Mixed review- subject pronouns, possessive pronouns, compound subjects/objects; common errors with pronouns; dictionary; vocabulary: word choice; composition-writing description

Reading:
"Kingdom Keepers"- activities in class for comprehension, vocabulary, fluency

Spelling:
